Our company is financially regulated as a MiFID firm (European Investment Firm) and as such can create the OTC hedging instrument as a principal. The firm is also authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to hold client funds.
The Role
We are searching for a Quality Assurance Engineer to support our Tech Team based in Coimbra in Portugal and Dublin in Ireland in assessing the quality of the software artifacts which are produced during the normal software development cycles.
This candidate should have a keen eye for detail, good communication skills in English, be competent in executing test cases and be passionate about quality.
The candidate will need to:
- Have a BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
- Experience in project management and QA methodology
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
- Full fluency in English, both written and spoken, is an absolute requirement of this role as all communication is through English
In their daily activities, the candidate will need to:
- Read, analyse, and understand the requirements documentation for each of the software artifacts
- Produce test specifications to validate these requirements
- Produce automated test case scripts where applicable
- Execute manual testing by following the specified test cases
- Running and maintaining the automated test case scripts
- Gathering evidence when test cases fail in the form of list of executed steps, screen shots, videos, traces of request/responses, etc.
- Log all evidences in a defect tracking system
- Interact with the development team to help reproduce and debug the issues
- Provide test reports for each test cycle
- Provide regular reporting to the CFO that is provided to the management and the Board
Experience with the following tools is a plus:
- Jira and X-Ray for defect tracking, ticket logging and bug tracking
- Basic Linux commands to access log files and collect evidences for defects
- Basic SQL knowledge to access databases and collect evidences for defects
- Knowledge of test automation tools, such as Cypress
