With a wide array of experience in the team across Forex Markets, Technology and Marketing, the team is building groundbreaking technology that is revolutionising the currency hedging market through our core partnerships.
Pritesh Ruparel
Based | From
Pritesh Ruparel joined Assure Hedge in 2021, based in London. Before joining Assure Hedge Pritesh was Head of the OTC Derivatives business at Sucden Financial, where he built a high growth platform that delivered cross-asset OTC derivatives solutions to a broad range of global clients including Financial Institutions, Corporates and Institutional Investors.
Barry McCarthy
Based 🇮🇪 | From 🇮🇪
Barry McCarthy is the founder of Assure Hedge, company he started in 2016. Before Assure Hedge, Barry spent 15 years as a successful financial markets trader and algorithmic trading system designer, working in Dublin, London, Gibraltar, Chicago and Singapore. Additionally, Barry created the first Diploma in Financial Trading in Ireland.
Paul Murphy

Paul Murphy joined as COO of Assure Hedge in 2020. Paul is a Chartered Accountant with over twenty years’ experience of working in Financial Services including proprietary trading companies, wholesale banking and most recently as Finance Director of a regulated Electronic Money Institution providing SaaS solutions.
Paul is also a member of The Institute of Tax and holds a Master’s Degree in Management.
Paul Cran

Paul Cran joined as CFO of Assure Hedge in 2018. Paul is a Chartered Accountant and was a director of a merchant bank in Dublin before taking up the role in 1993 as CFO and Deputy Chief Executive of the Maxol Group. He also served on the board of the Irish Management Institute.
Rafael Maia

Rafael Maia is CTO of Assure Hedge, based out of Coimbra in Portugal, where he leads the development team. Rafael has over 10 years’ experience in leading development and technical project management and has worked with major companies such as Vodafone in the UK.
Iain Duncan
Based | From
Iain Duncan joined Assure Hedge in 2018 as Head of Trading based in Dublin. Ian worked for 10 years as a Financial Markets Trader before joining Assure Hedge and has extensive experience across all asset classes, risk management and trading operations. Iain was also a co-founder of Dublin proprietary trading firm Myriad Trading.
Arsalan Haque

Arsalan Haque joined Assure Hedge in 2020. Arsalan has been working in financial markets and FX derivatives for over two decades, across the world in Hong Kong, Singapore, Zurich and London. Before joining Assure Hedge, Arsalan held Executive Director positions as Head of Trading at leading banks including UBS, HSBC and ING.
Richard Hayes

Richard Hayes is Chairman of Assure Hedge, Global Shares PLC and The Prusik Asia Funds. He is a Director of Findlay Park Funds PLC. Richard was formerly Chairman of EFT Group Ltd, Chairman of BHSL Ltd, and was founder and CEO IFG Group PLC for seventeen years until 2006.
Robert Smith

Robert Smith was the CTO of GETCO and managed a team of 70 technologists, building a multi-asset, globally distributed trading platform, enabling GETCO to become, at one point, the highest volume trading firm in the world. He was the former Head of Europe for Knight Capital Group.
Ben Robinson

Ben Robinson is co-founder of Aperture, a strategy consulting firm focused on the financial services sector. Before that, Ben worked at Temenos, the market-leading banking software company, where he was Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Strategy Officer. Ben also sits on the board of additiv, a Zurich-based WealthTech firm.
John Schlesinger
Based 🇮🇪 | From
John has worked as a software developer and architect for forty years, including long spells at IBM, where he developed the CICS transaction processing platform, and now at Temenos. In the ten years that he has worked at Temenos, he has helped introduce architectural changes that have allowed the company to scale to meet the transaction volumes of the world’s largest banks as well as to transition from on-premise to cloud-first deployment.
